Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management

PostgradDipPM(Cranefield)

The Postgraduate Diploma learning programme consists of three lectured modules (40 credits each), and in addition requires successful completion of the MDL short course on Professional English Skills (20 credits). There are three full days of lectures for each of the three abovementioned modules, spread evenly over the three months duration of each module. The PostgradDipPM effectively constitutes Step 2 towards the Master of Commerce Degree.

The learning programme may be commenced at Cranefield’s main Midrand campus in any quarter of the year, and then continued through to completion. In other words, Step 2 modules may be taken in any sequence. Please see the "Academic Calendars" to the left for details regarding the timeslots in Gauteng and other regions.

The PostgradDipPM is accredited at NQF level 7 (new NQF level 8), with 140 credits, and consists of four modules in total. Firstly, any three of the following four modules:

M3: "Organisational Quality and Performance Management"

M4: "Transformational Corporate Strategy"

M5: "Creating High-Performance Project and Process Teams"

M6: "Financial Management of Corporate Projects and Programmes".

and, secondly:

ME: "Professional English: Effective Writing and Speaking" (Compulsory 20 credits) - Web-based tuition.

The PostgradDipPM programme takes nine months to complete. For further details, please consult the full Cranefield Prospectus (PDF). The Professional English MDL material will be handed out in class (to all who have not yet completed the course). There is a clear need for the development of english skills in the postgraduate context. This need has also been recognised by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) and the Department of Education (DoE). The Professional English MDL course ensures that all our students have the opportunity to develop such skills for both academic and professional purposes.
